The Best Autumn Cafés in North Pembrokeshire

As the summer draws to a close and the crisp autumn air rolls over Pembrokeshire, our landscape begins to change. Leaves and pinecones now scrunch under your boots as you take in the new scenery. The colder air bites at your nose, which is why a nice, warm and welcoming cafe is the perfect spot to stop by on your walk or to meet with friends. Here are some of our favourite cafes in North Pembrokeshire.

Crwst, Cardigan

The first location on our list is Crwst, a cafe located in the heart of Cardigan. You will actually cross over into Ceredigion to visit this particular cafe, although it’s still only a 20-minute drive from our Newport site at Matthew Baker Caravans.

Crwst is a beloved café and bakery which serves brunch, coffee, and fresh bakes. They make everything in-house — from brioche doughnuts to cinnamon swirls — and also supply fresh bread from their bakery using organic flour. In the autumn, it’s a lovely spot to warm up with a latte and a pastry after a nice long walk in the fresh air.

They also sell a range of spreads which range from honey butter, to a hazelnut caramel spread. Autumn just got a lot sweeter!

La Fontana, Cardigan

Another location we recommend in Cardigan is a family-run Italian-style coffee house/snack bar. La Fontana offers freshly-ground coffees, hot chocolates, cakes, paninis and salads (and ice creams in warmer months). In the autumn months, it’s a delightful and welcoming nook — perfect for a slice of cake and a steaming hot drink.

Blas at Fronlas

The next location on our list that we would recommend this autumn is Blas at Fronlas in the market town of Newport, Pembrokeshire. This is a cosy café just a stones throw away from our Newport site, and 10 minutes from Dinas. They serve homemade quiches, salads, panini, soups, cakes and pastries. All of their food is freshly made each day.

In cold weather, you can expect a wood burner to keep things snug and a menu that leans into comforting, seasonal dishes.

Boosting a lovely atmosphere within, and if you’re feeling guilty after all the treats, they even hold a running club on Sunday!
